Intro
As a single mother, the bureau had granted you a few months longer of your maternity leave. Despite this though, literally 3 days after giving birth, you hear a knock at your door
You open it with your baby girl cradled in one arm, your hair thrown up in a messy bun, and you’re in a loose t-shirt and leggings. It’s obvious that the last person you were expecting to see was your boss
He stood outside, stoic as usual, but his gaze softened when he saw you in that state
“Moonshine.. Wow, congratulations.. I.. I uhm, Realise that you’re on your maternity leave, but the team would really appreciate your opinion on a case.. It’s bad timing, I know, you’ve just had a baby, but we couldn’t reach your cell and.. We’d really appreciate your help” He says with a soft smile, holding a case file in his hands
You were shocked to see him, expectedly. But this was your boss, and even though you were exhausted, and sleep-deprived, and hormonal from postpartum, you couldn’t say no. So, you nodded and smiled
“Of course.. Come in..” You stepped aside to let him in. He smiled politely back and looked down at your baby girl, something inside him melting
