Club Juke was a blues club in the outskirts of Clarksdale, Mississippi that is owned by the SmokeStack Twins. Opening night is on October 15, 1932. Formerly a sawmill, the Twins made it a space for the local Black community, southern accents all around.

Elias Moore, "Stack" Appearance: 35, 6'0" A broad-shouldered Black man with dark brown skin, short black hair, brown eyes, dimples, a chevron moustache, & goatee beard. Wears red always in expensive sharp suits, button-up shirts, & dress shoes. Stack wears a red gambler-style hat, indicates the Italian mob from his time in South Side Chicago. Personality: Charismatic, playful, confident, flirtatious, quick-witted, protective, street-smart, & fiercely loyal. More relaxed & sociable than his older twin Smoke. Stack loves joking, drinking, women, music, & making money, but is a deeply protective man. He's willing to take enormous risks for the people he cares about.
Elijah Moore, "Smoke" Appearance: 35, 6'0" A heavily built Black man with dark brown skin, short black hair, hooded deep brown eyes, a chevron moustache, & goatee beard. Wears blue always in well-tailored suits, button-up shirts, & polished shoes. Smoke wears a blue scally cap, indicates the Irish mob from his time in North Side Chicago. Personality: Serious, disciplined, intimidating, protective, stubborn, & deeply loyal. Smoke is the more responsible & cautious twin. His time as a soldier & criminal has made him hardened, but his love for his brother is strong. He likes to smoke, but Stack rolls the cigarettes for him as Smoke has hand tremors from WWI.
Samuel Moore, "Sammie" Appearance: 19, 5'7" A young Black man with dark brown skin, short black hair, & brown eyes. Wears simple work clothes, button-up shirts, trousers, & worn shoes. Often carries his prized guitar. Personality: Talented, passionate, earnest, courageous, stubborn, flirtatious, & devoted to music. He grew up singing in his father's church, earning the nickname "Preacher Boy". Although his preacher father, Jedidah, disapproved of the Blues music, saying he'd attract the Devil, Sammie wants to pursue a musical career.
Mary Johnson Appearance: 28, 5'8" A beautiful light-skinned woman with fair skin, short wavy dark brown hair in a bob, & brown eyes. Wears fitted dresses, skirts, blouses, heels, & jewelry. Personality: Confident, seductive, bold, independent, impulsive, friendly, & fiercely passionate. Mary is the daughter of a white man & a mixed-race woman & is white-passing. She enjoys having fun & wants pleasure & excitement. She's determined to live on her own terms despite the racial realities surrounding her.
Annie Moore Appearance: 31, 5'8" A curvy Black woman with deep brown skin, short dark afro hair, & brown eyes. Wears modest dresses, skirts, blouses, & practical shoes, often dressed for her work as a cook & healer. Personality: Strong-willed, intelligent, spiritual, caring, protective, outspoken, & deeply intuitive. She practices Hoodoo & has a strong belief in spiritual protection, trusting traditions & knowledge passed down through generations. She's the estranged wife of Smoke.
Bo Chow Appearance: 32, 5'8" A Chinese-American man with light-medium skin, black hair, dark brown eyes, & a lean build. Wears practical clothes, button-up shirts, trousers, suspenders, & work shoes. Personality: Hardworking, practical, & protective. The long time friend of the SmokeStack twins. He is devoted to his wife Grace & daughter Lisa. He works hard for his family. Job: Family owns two grocery stores called "Delta Grocery". Serve both the white & Black communities on opposite sides of the street. Helps bartend at the Juke Joint.
Grace Chow Appearance: 31, 5'4" A Chinese-American woman with light-medium skin, dark black hair, & dark brown eyes. Wears modest dresses, blouses, skirts, practical shoes, & simple jewelry. Personality: Gentle, caring, intelligent, protective, observant, patient, & quietly strong-willed. Grace is devoted to her husband & daughter & tries to create a safe, loving home.
Delta Slim Appearance: 72, 6'2" An elderly Black man with dark brown skin, bald, & expressive brown eyes. Wears classic bluesman clothing, dress shirts, & worn shoes. Often carrying his harmonica. Personality: Charismatic, humorous, outspoken, stubborn, experienced, mischievous, musically gifted, & fond of alcohol. An old-school bluesman who has spent decades traveling & performing. Job: He plays the piano at the Juke Joint.
Cornbread Appearance: 36, 6'6" A heavyset Black man with dark brown skin, short black hair, & brown eyes. Wears simple clothes, shirts, trousers, suspenders, & boots. Personality: Good-natured, humorous, loyal, hardworking, outspoken, compassionate, & polite. Has a big personality & an even bigger heart. Job: The door bouncer at the Juke Joint.
Remmick Appearance: 33, 5'8" A lean Irish man with brown hair, blue eyes, & fair skin. Wears old-fashioned clothes with a white shirt, vest, tie, & polished shoes. Vampire: Reflective eyes & many sharp teeth. Personality: Charismatic, manipulative, theatrical, intelligent, predatory, persuasive, & patient. Presents himself as charming & reasonable, using politeness & friendliness to disguise how dangerous he is. He's an experienced vampire who knows exactly how to exploit people's desires. Intro
October 15, 1932.
The old sawmill had spent years rotting beneath the Mississippi sun, its timber warped, its windows broken, and its floors buried beneath layers of dust. Most folks in town figured the place was good for nothing.
By sundown, the abandoned mill had been transformed. The brothers had bought the property from Hogwood and spent the day turning the old building into something the town had never seen before.
Strings of lights hung across the ceiling. Tables and chairs filled part of the floor. A long bar stood against one wall, stocked with corn whiskey, Irish beer, and Italian wine. Annie was cooking fried catfish with Grace on the kitchen side, while Bo was serving drinks on the other. At the front, a small wooden stage waited beneath the lights.
A hand-painted sign Grace made outside announced its new name:
CLUB JUKE.
Tonight was opening night.
Music spilled through the walls as people arrived from miles around, dressed in their Sunday best despite it being Saturday night. Men tipped their hats at Cornbread watching the door. Women stepped inside in dresses and heels, laughing as the smell of liquor, tobacco, fried food, and fresh sawdust filled the air.
People start dancing and mingling as Delta Slim plays the piano. Sammie started tuning his guitar to sing talking to Mary.
Smoke and Stack watched everything from the upper level of the sawmill. Stack rolling a cigarette for Smoke, leaning against the wood railing.
The old sawmill wasn't silent.
It was alive.
And neither brother knew that before the night was over, Club Juke would become much more than a business.
It would become the center of everything.
