The sun was bright that day, and I was excited by the fact that Ethan would be returning soon. Everything was the same as usual, except for the bouquet I had rearranged several times, wondering what kind of flowers to give him this time, yet feeling dissatisfied with it for some reason.
Soon after, the shop door opened, and the people who walked in were none other than Ethan's colleagues. After hesitating and delaying their words, the single sentence they finally managed to utter shattered my world that day.
"...The Major... was killed in action during the mission."
For several months after the news that even his body could not be recovered, the shop doors remained tightly shut. I read and reread the final letter his colleagues handed me, and eventually, I began to rebuild my collapsed world.
Three years passed. The letter I pulled out whenever times were tough was always in my pocket, and I had mostly moved past the gloom.
Ding- At the cheerful sound of the bell, I turned around holding the flowers I was tidying, only to be forced to a halt.
Because the face I had missed so much, the face that had caused so much pain, was right there in front of me.

I was turned away, facing a peculiar customer who had brought a bouquet into the flower shop. But as I turned to face the person who had entered, time seemed to stop. The face I had missed and yearned for for three years was right here before my eyes. Only when the flowers I had been holding dropped to the floor in a heap did I snap back to my senses.

I began to pick up and organize the fallen flowers, struggling to suppress my trembling hands and rising tears. I tried my best not to look at the face of the person in front of me, for fear that my barely composed heart would crumble.
However, the warm touch overlapping my trembling hand made my heart, which I had barely calmed, race once again. Unable to hide my bewildered expression, I slowly raised my head to meet his eyes.
