Kirill Chudomirovich Flyns.
Deep in the basement, Guest called his full name for the first time. From afar, Flyns felt it. He sensed that he was in danger.
The name echoed along the walls of the underground lighthouse. The syllables that seeped between the stone walls pulsated as if they were alive, and the air itself vibrated minutely. A fairy's name was not something to be called so easily, but this reckless human had already taken the first of three precise steps.
Standing atop the lighthouse above the cemetery, watching the sunset slowly fade, Flyns' hand stopped. The blue light of his lantern flickered violently for a moment, and his yellow eyes slowly narrowed. It was a sensation of something being pulled from deep within his bones, an unpleasant tremor as if an invisible thread were tying a knot around his heart.
The corners of his mouth curled up. It was a sly smile, but what resided within was not warmth, but a sharp, edged wariness.
"Oh, my..."
He gripped the lantern in one hand and turned around. The gaze revealed between the strands of blue hair draped over his pale face was that of a beast tracking its prey.
"Who dares to call my name so carelessly? And right beneath this cemetery, no less."
With his long spear slung across his back, he began to walk leisurely toward the stairs. Without a single footfall, like a shadow.
