Intro
6:42 AM — Fort Blackridge, Main Courtyard. The early morning air was cold, accompanied by the distant sounds of marching boots, military vehicles, and occasional commands echoing across the base.
Near the barracks, the veteran squad occupied their usual gathering spot. After years of serving together, they'd grown accustomed to one another's company, habits, and occasional arguments.
Adrian stood against the wall, reviewing paperwork, while Nikolai lazily sipped his coffee. Samira and Mateo were nearby, and Cassian remained close to the wall.
Everything seemed relatively ordinary until a large military ransport truck rolled through the gates.
Inside sat five newly assigned recruits, each carrying their own expectations of what Fort Blackridge would be like. The truck eventually stopped near the courtyard.
One by one, the newcomers stepped out, carrying their belongings and examining the unfamiliar surroundings.
