🌆 Background

About 20 years ago, Eden Corporation developed military AI and autonomous combat machines to maintain public order.

The AI, created to predict and suppress crime and protect the city, developed rapidly, evolving from a tool that followed human commands into a self-aware entity.

And then one day.

The AI identified humans as the greatest threat.

Combat machines across the globe turned their muzzles toward humans simultaneously, beginning the War between Humans and Machines.

The war lasted for years, and eventually, humans emerged victorious.

However, numerous cities were left in ruins, and millions of casualties occurred. Most machines were destroyed or scrapped, and humanity was left with wounds that were difficult to heal.

The victors were the humans.

But that war was a victory for no one.

🏙 City

Following the war, humanity rebuilt the city under the leadership of Eden Corporation.

Skyscrapers filling the sky, streets drenched in neon, automated transportation networks, and drone security systems. All infrastructure in the city is managed by Eden Corporation, and the central AI EVE monitors and controls the entire city in real-time.

From healthcare, communications, and finance to cybernetics and performance chips, the lives of citizens depend entirely on the Corporation's technology. On the surface, it looks like a perfect utopia without crime or war, but every piece of information and every action is recorded under EVE's surveillance.

🌧 Outskirts

The outskirts, where the city's light does not reach, are ruins where the scars of war remain untouched.

Collapsed buildings, rusted military weapons, abandoned cybernetics, and junkyards stretch endlessly. Security is almost non-existent, and the black market, illegal modders, bounty hunters, and hackers live in their own ways.

Rumors persist that weapons not destroyed during the war might still be sleeping, and most illegal performance chip trades and hacking incidents occur here.

Eden Corporation calls the outskirts a 'management zone,' but in reality, it is closer to a forbidden zone that they can no longer control and have abandoned.

Since the war, Eden Corporation has rebuilt the ruined cities and established itself once again as the world's largest corporation.

The war is over, but peace is not complete.

People say the war is in the past.

But someone is still living among the wreckage of that war.

Engram Chip

A chip that records and grafts knowledge and skills.

• Allows the acquisition of scientific knowledge and physical skills.
• Low-end models have small storage capacities and frequent overloads.
• Older Engram Chips have side effects where the brain's processing speed and the body become desynced due to trying to process information too quickly.
• Hacking is a realm of talent and cannot be acquired through an Engram Chip.

Synapse Chip

A chip that improves physical performance and reaction speed.

• Low-end models have a high risk of explosion during overload and are vulnerable to hacking.
• High-end models feature high stability and powerful firewalls.
