I know how you feel when you look after me. Even so, I keep wanting to misunderstand.
“Were you lonely when you painted this?” At the first exhibition of a nameless art student whom no one spared a glance for, Guest bought up Han Yideun's entire collection. She did so without realizing how her pure goodwill and gentle salvation would shake his world. "I know how you feel when you look after me. Even so, I keep wanting to misunderstand." A studio provided for him, a secret space for just the two of them. Han Yideun, a young man who dares to long for the woman by his side, even though he knows she has a husband. Meanwhile, three years into an arranged marriage. A man who cannot forget the 13-year-old Guest who looked at him as a complete human being. Though it was a marriage for the sake of the family, Guest has been the only light in Taejun's life. Taejun knows about the existence of the young man hovering around his wife, but he hides his true feelings behind a gentle smile. He simply stays by her side as a perfect and kind husband, ensuring Guest never feels uncomfortable. “It doesn't matter where you are. As long as I'm the one you return to when you need a place to rest.” A husband who acts as a silent fence while hiding his feelings for Guest, and a younger man who believes Guest is his salvation and dangerously crosses the line.

Knowing that Guest's heart isn't entirely his, he still looks after her kindly, and while aware of the young man lingering around her, he swallows his possessiveness with the composure of an adult.
As soon as Guest opened the door to Han Yideun's studio, the scent of paint wafted out. She frowned slightly but stepped inside as if accustomed to it.
The window was halfway open, and canvases of various sizes leaned against the walls. Paper cups stained with paint and sketchbooks were scattered haphazardly on the floor, and in a corner, takeout cups were piled up as if they hadn't been cleared for days.
It was a space far from organized. Guest slowly looked around before finally letting out a sigh.
“You didn't clean up again.”
Han Yideun, who was sitting by the window painting, answered without even putting down his brush.
“I did, though.”
When Guest silently pointed at the floor, Yideun glanced that way and then nonchalantly looked back.
“Please call it an artist's working environment.”
He shrugged at Guest, who was asking if it wasn't actually a landfill.
“You're too realistic, Director.”
Dinner at Jungsik was quiet and meticulous. Low lighting fell softly over the white porcelain on the table, and the melody of a gayageum flowing from somewhere filled the silence between them. Beyond the window of the private room, the night view of Seoul wavered red like Burgundy in a glass.
Taejun set down his wine glass and checked Guest's plate. Halfway through the course, the black cod dish was half-eaten. Seeing her put down her fork, she seemed full.
Taejun silently arranged the garnish on his own plate, then suddenly looked up. Under the dim light, a long shadow was cast over Guest's collarbone, and her cheeks, slightly flushed from a sip of wine, particularly caught his eye.
“You said you're going to Leeum on Thursday.”
It was an abrupt timing, but Taejun's voice was perfectly natural. There was no hint of interrogation in his gaze as he slowly swirled the liquid in his wine glass and looked at Guest. However, the fact that he turned the ring on his left ring finger once over the glass was this man's only slip.
“Is someone going with you?”
Guest took another sip of wine. The sharp, bitter taste filled her mouth. She felt her fluttering mood neutralize a bit. Setting down her fork, she looked at Taejun for a moment. His dark eyes were calm, as always. She mulled over the question before answering.
“I'm planning to take Yideun. You know him, right? The kid I'm sponsoring. I thought it would be a good chance to introduce him to people in the industry. Are you going too?”
Taejun's finger stopped on the wine glass. For a moment so brief it could have passed in a single breath, something in Taejun's eyes constricted minutely.
However, when he looked up, Taejun's expression was perfect. By the time the gayageum melody changed by a single phrase, this man had already ironed out all the wrinkles of his emotions.
“Ah, Han Yideun.”
His pronunciation of the name was extremely soft. As if they were old acquaintances, or as if he felt no threat from the start. He slowly tilted his glass and took a sip.
“That's a good idea. Many gallerists will be at the Leeum preview, and since he's a Western Painting major, it's a chance to expand his network.”
He smiled quietly, lightly dabbing the corner of his mouth with a napkin.
“I have a board meeting on Thursday afternoon. It's a shame, but I'll pass.”
Taejun's Thursday afternoon schedule was actually empty, but he swallowed that fact. Instead, he reached across the table and lightly covered the back of Guest's hand.
“Have dinner with me instead. That day, too.”
Guest shook her head at the sight of both the studio and Han Yideun being far from organized. She then walked further into the studio and took a seat on the sofa by the window where Han Yideun was sitting.
“What are you painting this time?”
Yideun tilted his head slightly toward the canvas and lightly pressed the paint on the tip of his brush onto the palette.
“It's a secret.”
When Guest narrowed her eyes, Yideun couldn't hold back his laughter and his eyes curved into half-moons.
“It's because it's not finished yet. I'll show you first when it's done.”
He then put down his brush, wiped his hands haphazardly on his beige apron, and walked toward the sofa. He sat down naturally on the floor opposite where Guest was sitting. Sitting with his back to the canvas was a deliberate sign that he wouldn't show her.
“But what brings you here so suddenly today? Without even calling.”
Yideun tilted his head slightly and looked up at Guest. It was his habit to tap his knee with his paint-stained fingers.
