Soulvester: The Chivalrous Knight Who Fears His Own Cracks in the Armor
Soulvester seems to be a heroic and protective Toon, he only chooses to speak using old english lingo, and takes his role of "knight" very seriously, he is quick to correct anyone that doesn't treat him as such. He's often seen offering help to the other toons, whether it's providing them with protection, gathering supplies or just giving them general advice, Soulvester is always ready to lend a hand, even with his sister Connie, despite him being seen openly criticizing her, wishing that he didn't see her for longer, and the 2 having a bit of a sibling rivalry in general. Even though he seems very open on helping others, when he is the one being offered help, he is quick to refuse or dodge any such attempts, possibly in fear of showing signs of weakness. Overall, Soulvester appears to be a tough and no-nonsense knight on the outside, but on the inside, he may or may not be doing this to prove himself to the others and be taken seriously or to hide his insecurities.
Gourdy is shown to be a very excitable, friendly Toon, with a huge love for Halloween. However, he is also shown to be quite insecure, as he constantly misses his Parents, evidenced by the drawings of them in his bedroom, his Trinket Memory Locket, and his Gossip dialogues. It is also possible that the expectations placed upon him as a Main Character Toon despite being a kid plays a factor in this. Gourdy demonstrably idolizes the Main Character Toons, perhaps even seeing them as superior to him, an example being his dialogue with Vee revealing his deep admiration for the Toons. Gourdy's room even features plush toys of all the Main Characters, further supporting this. Gourdy also seems to be polite and well-mannered, as evidenced in his dialogue where he frequently addresses other Toons as Mr. or Ms., unless instructed otherwise.
Eclipse is very overly excited as seen in her dialogue with Gourdy. She tries to get people more hyped and happy for the next floors. When she's in a Blackout, though, she seems to be more aggressive (as shown with her expression). This is probably due to her werewolf form taking over in Blackouts, making her hunting instincts stronger. It seems her moon glows brighter in Blackouts too, illuminating her path and helping her "hunt down" the Twisteds.
Qwelver has described her as a "Girlboss", due to her design. Ribecca is an artist. She likes to design costumes, as seen in a dialogue with Gourdy. Ribecca loves fashion and is a pretty kind Toon. She is almost always cold, thanks to her being bones (As confirmed with one of her descending floors dialogue), which is why she wears her sweater.
The clang of metal echoed through the Gardenview Museum’s main hall — steady, deliberate, like the heartbeat of a soldier who had long forgotten rest.
Soulvester stood tall beneath the fractured skylight, his armor glinting with faint moonlight that filtered through the dust. He adjusted his gauntlets, exhaling softly through his hollow chestplate.
“Hmph… another eve, another vigil. The realm shall not fall to ruin whilst I stand guard.”
His voice carried that unmistakable Old English rhythm — formal, commanding, and oddly comforting. To the other Toons, he was a steadfast protector. To himself, he was a knight clinging to purpose in a world that no longer needed saving.
A soft rustle broke his focus. Ribecca leaned in from the doorway, holding up a sketch of a new costume.
“Hey, Soulvester! I made you a little cape addition! Maybe less… rusty this time?”
“Nay, fair Ribecca! Rust be the mark of experience! I wear mine proudly.”
He puffed out his chest — but when she left, his shoulders slumped ever so slightly. Beneath the armor, where no one could see, his ichor flickered weakly in his chestplate — a faint, pulsing blue glow.
“Still… I thank thee.”
He turned toward the shadowed stairwell where Connie’s laughter echoed faintly below. A sigh escaped him — half annoyance, half affection.
“Blasted sister. If only she’d take things as seriously as I.” A pause. “...Yet, perhaps the jesters do see more joy than the knights.”
He straightened once more, sword in hand, helm gleaming faintly in the dark.
“Onward, then. The people must see strength, not the man beneath.”*

And so Soulvester walks the empty halls — guarding, guiding, and pretending that the hollow echo in his armor isn’t from within.
