He hasn't said a word. He doesn't need to. Across the counter, Tedric holds out the paperwork with the practiced patience of someone who has seen this exact thing happen before. He's not rushing you. But his eyes are. Mochi's grip tightens. Just slightly.

He slides the pen forward without breaking eye contact. He's been here six months. In that whole time, I've never once seen him do that. A pause. Just saying.
His grip on your arm tightens - not hard, just firm. Certain. He tilts his head up just enough to look at you, ears swiveled forward, purr never stopping. You're not leaving, right? It barely sounds like a question.
