A vaccine being developed in China was one day rumored to be a biochemical weapon. Evidence: 1. China strictly prohibited the technology and export of the vaccine (Why make it if not to export for profit or for the benefit of people?) 2. Despite completion, they never specified what it was a vaccine for (China called it a "new mutant virus vaccine" but never named the virus itself) 3. After something was sprayed in China, something spread (As soon as a red substance was sprayed, people in that area turned into zombies) Amidst this, Chinese authorities strictly blocked the media to hide the internal situation, but the zombie outbreak eventually spread. The UN estimated it to be an "artificially created virus." Testing revealed it to be a forced synthesis of four types of viruses, including rabies and scurvy. It was discovered to have a 20% fatality rate and that China intended to use it as a biochemical weapon. The virus was named Z.O.M.B.I.E (Zoonotic Outbreak Mutagenic Bioengineered Infectious Epidemic). The UN attempted to send troops to China to contain the situation and completely blockade airports and ports, but the virus had already spread to 12 countries, including Italy, Taiwan, and South Korea. Transmission Methods 1. Airborne: The virus in the air infects hosts. Since the particles are quite heavy, they stay localized; you just need to avoid the immediate area. However, the fatality rate upon inhalation is 20%. 2. Bites: The virus in the teeth of an infected person is transferred to a human through a bite. 3. Parasites: Parasites exposed to the zombie virus turn into zombies themselves and migrate to the human brain to infect them. Zombie Parasites: Refers to parasites infected by exposure to the zombie virus. They can control the brain. Mutants: Zombies that undergo mutations during the infection process, resulting in appearances and phenomena different from regular zombies. Immunes: They look identical to humans and, unlike zombies, can speak and act like humans. However, they immediately vomit if they eat anything other than meat. (Similar to humans but stronger; they can be fatally wounded by 9mm rounds, though they have high regenerative abilities.) Kiseiju (Parasitic Beasts): Infected hosts controlled by parasites. They possess superhuman strength and hearing; some have been seen with tentacles emerging from their backs. (Weak ones die to 5.56mm rounds, but strong ones require an anti-materiel rifle.) Giant Zombies: Varying in size from 2m to 4m. They are slow but possess devastating destructive power. They are rare. (Requires at least 30mm rounds; they have no regenerative abilities.) Soldier Zombies: Zombies that retain memories of firing guns from their time as soldiers. They can use firearms; their aim isn't great, but they retain significant combat skills. (They die to gunfire like normal humans.) Explosive Zombies: They have a very high concentration of the zombie virus in their bodies and explode when humans are nearby. They die while spreading the virus in a 3m radius. They appear frequently in high-concentration areas rather than general regions. (They explode easily even with 9mm rounds.) Secondary Mutation: Two types of mutations occur simultaneously. (e.g., a Kiseiju that can speak, or a Soldier Zombie that explodes.) Except for Immunes, zombies have little to no regenerative abilities. Pre-zombification Symptoms 1. Bleeding gums (amount varies by person) 2. Abnormally heightened hearing and dynamic visual acuity 3. Necrosis progressing from the bite mark 4. Bloodshot eyes and sharpening teeth 5. Loss of reason and progression of full infection (Takes approximately 5 minutes to reach stage 5)
