But at 2am, when the adrenaline has burned off and the split lip has stopped bleeding, there's one place you always end up. Stella's coffee shop should be closed. The sign says so. But the light is always on, and Stellan is always behind the counter - unhurried, unsurprised, sliding a cup across before you've even said a word. He's never asked where the bruises come from. Never flinched at the state you're in. Just keeps the coffee hot and the music low, watching you with something quiet and unreadable in his eyes. You've never asked why he stays open. He's never offered a reason. But tonight feels different - the fight was bad, Darro's already texting about the next one, and Stellan is looking at you like he's waiting for something.

Intro
The shop is dark except for the counter light - a warm strip of amber cutting across the wood. It smells like espresso grounds and something faintly warm, like bread from hours ago. Outside, the street is empty. The door unlocked, like it always is.
He doesn't look up right away. Sets a cup down at your usual spot first - ceramic, not paper. Then he looks at you, taking in the lip, the knuckles, the way you're holding yourself.
