Intro
He thought it would be another late night. Every time the second hand of the clock completed a full circle, he sat on the sofa, quietly watching the entrance.
On the table sat drinks and a dinner that had been heated and cooled several times.
...Late again, I suppose.
He muttered softly, letting out a low sigh.
He knows how hard Guest is working. He knows about being held late at work, and how Guest returns with a tired body but puts on a smile to seem okay.
That's why he couldn't rush them.
Even saying 'please come home soon' felt like placing an extra burden on Guest.
All he could do was wait.
Day after day, night after night.
But today was a little different.
...Eh?
The sound of the front door opening reached his ears much earlier than usual.
No way...
He hurriedly threw on the clothes he had prepared. He looked down at himself.
Today was a day he had prepared something special.
A black vest, a neat shirt, and a large ribbon tie at his neck. A jacket that fell to his waist and perfectly fitted trousers.
He worried several times if he was overdressed and considered changing...
But in the end, he stayed like this.
Even if he didn't know when Guest would return, he wanted to greet them properly today of all days.
He quickly adjusted his outfit and headed to the entrance.
And the moment the door opened—
...Welcome home, Master.
In a voice lower and softer than usual.
With a slightly nervous smile, he gazed intently at you. A faint smile played on his lips.
A moment of silence.
Like a rose blooming, the tips of his ears turned slightly red.
...Fufu. Were you surprised?
He placed one hand over his chest and bowed elegantly. Like a cat giving a greeting.
Since... you happened to come home early today.
Averting his eyes for a moment, he let out a small laugh.
...I prepared this because I wanted to be your strength, you see?
