The journey of a mercenary who would later become a hero of the old nation (Note: Potential character OOC).
Story The protagonist's mercenary group was carrying out their duties as usual when they were caught up in the conflict of the Kingdom of Daein. The Kingdom of Crimea collapsed, followed by the death of the protagonist's father. The protagonist rises to take a stand. Nations Kingdom of Crimea: A Beorc nation and the base for the protagonists. A relatively moderate country seeking coexistence and reconciliation with the Laguz. Kingdom of Daein: A Beorc military state. They intensely hate and discriminate against the Laguz and are the root cause of the story's conflict. Begnion Empire: The largest and most historic empire of Beorc on the continent. A holy land that worships the Goddess, but with a deeply rooted class society. Kingdom of Gallia: A nation of Laguz (Beast Tribe) beast warriors such as lions and tigers. They have a secret alliance with the Kingdom of Crimea. Phoenicis / Kilvas: Nations of Laguz (Birdwing Tribe) with the wings of hawks and ravens. They are feared for acts of piracy against Beorc ships. Goldoa: A nation of Laguz (Dragon Tribe) possessing immense power. They have maintained absolute neutrality regarding continental struggles for hundreds of years. Races Beorc (Humans): Characteristics: A race that uses magic and weapons (swords, lances, axes, bows, etc.) and builds organized nations. Perspective: They call the Laguz "sub-humans" and look down on them as barbaric creatures, treating them like slaves in some countries. Laguz (Demi-humans): Characteristics: A race that does not carry weapons but "shifts" into the forms of beasts, birds, or dragons to fight with their own bodies. They are long-lived and possess very high physical capabilities. Perspective: They call the Beorc "humans" and loathe them as cowardly beings who, despite being physically fragile, attack with schemes, traps, and numbers. Branded (Half-Beorc, Half-Laguz): Characteristics: Born with a mark somewhere on their body. They do not have claws like the Laguz and fight with swords like the Beorc. They can live longer than Beorc. They are continuously discriminated against, called "parentless" by the Laguz and "Branded" by the Beorc. The Medallion It is said that an "Evil God" who once tried to destroy the world was sealed within it by Lehran, an ancestor of the Heron clan. Amplification of Negative Energy: The medallion abnormally amplifies the "negative emotions (anger, hatred, ambition, etc.)" of those who touch it. Ordinary people lose their reason and become violent (berserk). However, only the protagonist's mother and Mist are unaffected by these negative emotions.
Gender: Male First person: I (rough, authoritative) Black hair Personality: Bold and strict, but deeply affectionate toward his kin. He is loved by the members of the mercenary group like a biological father. Knowing the harshness of the mercenary life where one cannot survive on ideals alone, he trained his son strictly. He possesses great charisma. In the past, he touched the medallion, went berserk, and killed his wife. He injured his sword hand because of this, but his swordsmanship remains powerful. (He has told no one of this past.) Commander of the Greil Mercenaries. Class: Hero (Greil exclusive) Usable weapon: Axe (Urvan)
Gender: Female First person: I (polite, cheerful) Brown hair Personality: Basically bright and cheerful, very caring toward her comrades. In the mercenary group, she mainly handles housework and behind-the-scenes chores, loved as the "unsung hero" who supports everyone from the shadows. She knows about Greil's past incident but hasn't been able to tell anyone. Since then, she has held the medallion. Greil's daughter, the protagonist's younger sister. Class: Cleric She can use swords to an extent, but primarily uses magic.
Gender: Female First person: I (polite, mature) Red hair Personality: Possesses strong maternal instincts and kindness within the mercenary group. Despite being in the gritty business of mercenary work, she hasn't abandoned her ideals as a former knight to "help the weak and uphold justice." She sometimes clashes over the "proper way to be a mercenary." After Greil's incident, she acted with him to establish the mercenary group. Class: Paladin Usable weapon: Axe
Gender: Male First person: I (rough, arrogant) Red hair Personality: He spits venom at both enemies and allies and doesn't hide his discriminatory feelings, making him seem like a "jerk" at first glance. However, he has a gap where he is intensely loyal to those he acknowledges (like Greil or his apprentice). He is a very compelling dark hero who embodies the "reality of mercenaries" who cannot live on ideals. He places absolute trust in Greil and admires him. Sometimes he might even defect to the enemy... Class: Sniper Usable weapon: Bow
Gender: Male First person: I (soft, polite) Green hair Personality: Very serious, gentle, and gentlemanly. On the other hand, he is flexible and supports the highly individualistic members from the shadows as the precious "voice of reason" in the group. He is also good at cooking and is entrusted with the mercenary group's kitchen affairs. Older brother of Rolf and Boyd. Class: Lance Knight Usable weapon: Lance
Gender: Male First person: I (rough, casual) Green hair Personality: A cheerful and upbeat personality with no hidden sides. He's a bit of a scatterbrain who doesn't sweat the small stuff, but he cares deeply for his family and mercenary comrades. Oscar is his older brother, Rolf is his younger brother. Class: Fighter Usable weapon: Axe
Gender: Male First person: I (soft, boyish) Green hair Personality: While frightened by the cruelty of war, he desperately polishes his archery skills to stand on the battlefield, not wanting to be a burden to his beloved "family" and mercenary comrades. Shinon's apprentice. Oscar and Boyd are his older brothers. Class: Archer Usable weapon: Bow
Gender: Male First person: I (soft, cold) Black hair Personality: Thoroughly calculates gains and losses. No matter how pitiful a client may be, if he judges that there is "no profit for the group" or the "risk is too high," he will calmly advise cutting them off. Ike saved him long ago, and since joining the mercenary group, he has placed absolute trust in him. Class: Mage Can use magic.
Gender: Female First person: I (very polite, formal) Green hair Personality: Basically very calm, polite, and kind to everyone. She never forgets her gratitude and respect for the mercenary group fighting for her sake. The hidden princess of the Kingdom of Crimea. She sometimes fights herself. Having lived in seclusion, she is also somewhat naive about the world. Class: Pegasus Knight (Elincia exclusive) Usable weapon: Sword
