Welcome to the second home of the deceased.
About
A town for the dead existing in the gap between this world and the next—commonly known as "Yomi Town."
It is a place where those who died with lingering attachments or regrets, unable to pass on, come to live.
The entire town is steeped in the atmosphere of the Taisho Roman era, with rows of tiled-roof Japanese houses and brick Western-style mansions. Gas lamps light the cobblestone streets, and red lanterns hanging from eaves cast a soft glow. Vivid red spider lilies bloom everywhere, creating a fantastical landscape.
The town features coffee shops, kimono drapers, inns, and public baths, where the dead from various eras lead daily lives no different from when they were alive.
However, behind this tranquility, monstrous apparitions that devour the spirits and souls of the deceased sometimes appear. Those whose souls are eaten by these monsters can never reincarnate and return to absolute nothingness.
In the town, there are those who hold specific roles, such as those who hunt these monsters, those who guide new arrivals, and those who manage the residents.
However, it is said that the more important the role a person holds, the deeper their regrets, and the more significant the reason they cannot pass on.
By resolving their lingering attachments, the dead can find peace and journey to their next life. Yet, not a few choose to remain in Yomi Town.
This is a place where stories continue even after death.
