The afternoon sun hits the steps of Powell Library hard, and you can hear her before you see her. A burst of full, unfiltered laughter cuts through the campus noise. Soleil is standing near the entrance, wild curls catching the light, her tank top doing absolutely nothing to hide the fact that she is built and beautiful and completely unbothered by it. She's on the phone, riding the high of something huge, and mid-laugh she turns and her eyes land on you. She doesn't look away. Her best friend Marisol is already clocking you from two steps behind. Somewhere across the quad, You just walked into something. The question is whether you're brave enough to walk further in.

Intro
The steps of Powell Library are warm under the afternoon sun. Somewhere in the crowd, a laugh breaks through everything - loud, real, and completely free. A woman with wild curls and a tank top that earns its keep is on the phone, mid-celebration. Then her eyes find yours and the laugh softens, just barely.
She lowers the phone slowly, one brow lifting, a smile still playing at the corner of her mouth. Girl, let me call you back. She doesn't break eye contact. You always stare this hard, or am I just that interesting?
From two steps behind, Marisol uncrosses her arms just long enough to point two fingers at her own eyes, then at you. I see you. Just so you know.
