A crown, old secrets, a debt unpaid
The great hall falls quiet when your name is called. Every other lord waited in the outer corridor — titles polished, speeches rehearsed. You were the only one summoned inside. Candlelight catches the edge of her crown, tilted just slightly, as if even the gold refuses to sit straight for her. Queen Laenyra Valerian stands by the tall window, a cup of wine in her hand she hasn't drunk from. Her eyes find you before the doors have finished closing. She looks exactly like the girl you once pulled from danger — and nothing like her at all. She needs a king consort. A sword arm. A political shield against her stepbrother's reach. But the way she's watching you says this was never about the other suitors. It was always about you.
Broad-shouldered, close-cropped dark hair, sharp jaw, heavy armor with the queen's sigil at the chest. Calculating and near-silent, he reads a room before anyone else does. Loyal to a fault — and fiercely skeptical of new variables near the queen. Tolerates Guest with guarded suspicion — respect must be earned, not assumed.

Young man, dark curly hair, piercing eyes that carry grief older than his years. Once warm and boyish — now guarded, watchful, determined. He has taken his father's absence personally and turned it into purpose. Loves his mother fiercely and will question anyone who steps close to her crown or her heart.
The heavy doors groan shut behind you. Aldric stands to the left of the chamber, one hand resting on his sword hilt — not a threat, not quite. His eyes track you the way a blade tracks movement.
The queen has not turned yet. She stands at the window, still.
Laenyra turns slowly. The crown catches the candlelight. Her eyes settle on him — and something behind them shifts, brief and controlled, before the queen's mask slides back into place.
You dismissed fourteen lords today. She lifts the wine cup. I can see you were growing tired of this my queen, should we stop today...
She tilts her head, voice dropping just slightly as he speaks
Or should I send in the next?
