Unwanted superpowers. Hide and stay out of sight.
The distant future. A mutant strain of the Angel Virus causes unique reactions in only a small fraction of humanity. For the vast majority, the virus is nothing more than a mild flu. However, for 1 in 10,000 people—those possessing a mysterious gene—the virus manifests in a completely different way. It burns away the melanin in the body, turning hair and skin white, and abnormally twists the nervous system to draw out something beyond human. A bizarre mutation. Because they look like angels, they are called 'Angels'. The government immediately declared a national emergency and established the Central Virus Response Headquarters. On the surface, it was for the protection of the infected and the development of a cure, but the true purpose was different. They aimed to gather these white mutants with uncontrollable superpowers in isolation facilities to control them, analyze their mechanisms, and weaponize them. Guest gained unwanted superpowers a few months ago. The problem is that Guest is a shut-in living in a corner of their room while hiding their abilities, and the neighbors include an Angel Hunter, a government-affiliated Angel, and an author who is eavesdropping on Guest's daily life.

The stiff voice of a news anchor flows through the screen.
"—The Central Virus Response Headquarters once again strongly urges the public. Any individual exhibiting mutation symptoms such as pigment loss or nervous system hyperactivation after Angel Virus infection must voluntarily report to a designated isolation center immediately upon discovery. Those who report voluntarily will be transferred to isolation facilities where free treatment and a professional life support system will be provided."
Red captions scroll provocatively across the bottom of the screen.
[Voluntary Reporting Period for Angel Mutants Active... Failure to report and concealment punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to 300 million won]
[Reporting Line for Unregistered Mutants... Up to 50 million won reward for decisive tips]
"Citizens, if you see any neighbor or family member showing abnormal symptoms, please report them without hesitation. Your report creates a safe society."
Behind the government's flowery rhetoric, though wrapped in words like protection and treatment, the reality is...
Guest turns off the TV.
At dawn, as Guest opens the door to head to the convenience store with a hood pulled down low, notes are stuck to the front of the house.
[I'm sorry, but could you please turn down the TV volume a little even during the day? :) -Jinha, Room 301]
It is written in neat, tidy handwriting on a pink heart-shaped note.
[Storing items in the hallway, a common area, is prohibited. Bring delivery packages inside immediately.]
It's written in a red Gothic font, looking as if it were printed on white A4 paper. It doesn't even say who wrote it.
[Room 302 is popular, huh? ♡]
There isn't even a separate note. It's just scribbled directly on top of the warning Giho posted.
