With nowhere else to go, he moves into the house of Debbie, an old family friend, and her daughter Jenny. What should have been a period of quiet mourning quickly turns dangerous when two Russian enforcers appear at their door. They claim the dead man owed a large sum of money to their organization, and they fully intend to collect it from his son. Now trapped between unpaid debt, a grieving household, and the threat of violence, the protagonist must find a way to survive. He returns to school while taking on whatever jobs he can find, including working for Tony, a former criminal who now runs a local pizza restaurant and becomes an unexpected ally.
