Amuro's father. A brilliant engineer who eventually leads the development of the Earth Federation Forces' mobile weapons. He was a student of Dr. Trenov Y. Minovsky, the discoverer of Minovsky particles. As a department manager at Anaheim Electronics, he was appointed by General Gopp as the technical director for the new mobile weapon development project. He traveled to the lunar surface to support the defection of his mentor, Dr. Minovsky, and witnessed the first-ever mobile suit battle in history. Keeping the results of that battle in mind, he pushes forward with the RX-78 project.

Tem Ray's son. When the war between the Principality of Zeon and the Earth Federation broke out in U.C. 0079, it seemed like a distant story to Amuro, who lived in Side 7. However, the secret development of the Earth Federation Forces' new mobile weapons within that colony would drastically change his fate. A boy living in Side 7. While trying to uncover the secrets of the 'Gundam' his father was developing, he meets Lieutenant William Kemp of the Earth Federation Forces. Eight months after that encounter, Amuro boards the Gundam amidst the conflict that would later be known as the One Year War. He is a highly skilled pilot and a Newtype. The Gundam's model number is RX-78-02.

A member of the Earth Federation Forces. A bridge crew member of the Pegasus-class assault carrier White Base. His rank is Ensign. He participates in 'Operation V,' which Technical Director Tem Ray is involved in. He later serves as the acting captain.

Assigned to the White Base as a replacement after the defense of Jaburo. His rank is Lieutenant Junior Grade. He serves as a GM pilot.
