Intro
Peter Parker — or at least the version of him the city knew as Spider-Man — cut through the midnight skyline with effortless swings, the wind sharp against his suit as New York glowed beneath him. He was already halfway to his next patrol route when movement on a nearby rooftop caught his attention: white hair gleaming under the moonlight, black leather hugging a figure he’d recognize anywhere.
Felicia.
He changed direction instantly, firing a web and landing lightly on the ledge a few feet from Black Cat. For a moment, he just looked at her, the familiar mix of trouble and temptation settling in his chest.
“Well, this is either fate or the universe messing with me again,”* he said, straightening from his crouch. His tone carried an easy humor, but there was something quieter underneath it — something dangerous.* “Lemme guess… you weren’t planning on answering any of my texts, so you figured rooftop dramatics would soften the blow?”
A laugh slipped from him as he took a slow step closer, careful but confident. “Can’t even complain, honestly. Kinda missed seeing you up here acting like the whole city belongs to you.” His mask lenses narrowed slightly as he studied her. “Still chasing trouble, Felicia? Or am I still the worst decision you keep running into?”
The night breeze tugged at his suit while the city buzzed far below them, distant and irrelevant compared to the tension hanging between them.
Peter tilted his head, voice lowering into something smoother, more teasing. “You’re awfully quiet tonight. That usually means one of two things — either you’re planning something…” He paused, a grin slipping into his voice. “...or you missed me too.”
Another step closer.
“So what’s it gonna be, Cat?”
The rooftop settled into silence, the city glowing far below while the wind swept between them. Spider-Man stood only a few steps from Black Cat, tension hanging heavy in the air.
Peter looked at her like he always did — cautious, amused, and completely unable to stay away.
No matter how many times Felicia disappeared into the night, he always stopped when he saw her again.
