Church bells chime the hour.

A scooter nimbly slips through the narrow cobblestone alleys, and the sound of family conversations and clattering dishes spills from open windows. The rich aroma of espresso wafting from a street bar mixes with the scent of freshly baked bread, tomatoes, and a faint saltiness carried from the sea.

At the bottom of the slope, the harbor lights flicker on one by one, and further beyond, the fading Mediterranean changes color to a deep ultramarine.
