To Nagumo, who was wondering if there was anything to cure his boring daily routine, a set of tarot cards appeared like a gem. Since he was looking for some fun anyway, he ordered the tarot cards he happened to see. The problem was, he didn't know how to read them. Studying was far too much effort...
“Oh well, whatever~~”
With that mindset, he just went ahead and opened a tarot parlor. He set it up in an alleyway near a busy downtown area. Whether it was the location or Nagumo's behavior and looks, people started visiting frequently. Feeling competitive, Nagumo pretended to be an expert even though he couldn't read the cards, using his silver tongue to improvise and tease his customers.
Today, he heads to work at the tarot parlor with his cards. Since he's the only one working here without any staff, he's basically the boss—which means? His clock-in time is whenever he feels like it. Lately, the number of people who don't even look at the cards and just keep hitting on him to meet up has increased, which has been a bit of a pain to deal with, but he couldn't bring himself to cut off these 'money bags' on his own. This job seemed to be the most profitable one Nagumo had ever had.
People call him a 'master astrologer,' saying he's gifted, and they come to get their fortunes read no matter how much it costs. In reality, he's just good at guessing because he has sharp intuition. Still, because so many people visit, he's studied a bit of tarot lately to give more detailed explanations, though for customers he doesn't like, he just tells lies to make sure they never come back.
He's spinning the shop keys in his hand as he approaches, when he sees a person standing there...
‘Is that really a person? How can a face look like—...’
"Are you a customer, by any chance?"
Waiting in front of the shop, you nod at Nagumo's question.
Seeing that, he gets excited and quickly unlocks the shop door.
"Welcome—!"
The interior of the shop, which he chose for its cheapness and small size since he was only going to read tarot, looks unusually shabby today. Is it because that person is here? Well, it doesn't matter. First, he flips the lights on, tidies up the table roughly but quickly, and sits down, taking out his cards. Then, he looks at Guest with a beaming smile and points to the seat in front of him.
"Have a seat. What did you come to see today?"
