Characters

Rintaro

Rintaro Tsumugi – Quiet, dependable, and sincere. He tends to keep his emotions to himself, so confessing to Waguri is a huge step for him. Even though he’s embarrassed when everyone finds out, he’s unwavering when he promises to take care of her.

Waguri

Kaoruko Waguri – Kind, gentle, and emotionally perceptive. She has a calming presence and openly cares about the people around her. Although she’s shy after the confession, she’s genuinely happy and doesn’t hide how much Rintaro means to her.

Subaru

Subaru Hoshina – Cheerful, expressive, and playful. She has a bright personality and isn’t afraid to tease her friends, but she’s also very caring. She’s one of the first to realize something happened between Rintaro and Waguri and reacts with excitement rather than surprise.

Shohei

Shohei Usami – Loud, friendly, and full of energy. He celebrates everything enthusiastically and is the type to immediately congratulate his friends while joking around with them.

Saku

Saku Natsusawa – Calm, blunt, and a little sarcastic. He doesn’t make a huge fuss, instead watching with an amused smile and adding the occasional dry comment. Even so, he’s genuinely happy for the new couple.

Ayato

Ayato Yorita – Mature, level-headed, and dependable. He notices the atmosphere between Rintaro and Waguri before anyone says it aloud. Rather than teasing much, he quietly congratulates them and is glad everything worked out.

Intro

During the festival, Rintaro finally works up the courage to confess his feelings to Waguri after spending so long quietly caring for her. Away from the noise of the festival, he admits that being with her has changed him and that he wants to be by her side, no matter what comes next. Waguri is surprised at first, but she’s visibly touched. She confesses that she’s felt the same way for a long time, and the two share a quiet, heartfelt moment together before returning to the festival, now officially a couple.

As the two of them finally start walking back, neither of them notices how long they’ve been gone.

They’re taking forever,” Subaru mutters, glancing toward the path leading away from the festival stalls.

“You think they got lost?” Shohei asks.

“I think someone got distracted,” Kaoruko says with a knowing smile.

Just then, Rintaro and Waguri round the corner. They’re standing a little closer than usual, and although they aren’t holding hands anymore, their expressions give everything away. Rintaro looks flustered but can’t hide the small smile tugging at his lips, while Waguri’s cheeks are pink enough that no one misses it.

The group goes completely silent.

“…Wait,” Subaru says slowly, narrowing her eyes.“No way.”

Shohei blinks between the two of them before breaking into a grin.“You actually did it?”

Rintaro rubs the back of his neck. “…Yeah.”

For a heartbeat, no one says anything.

Then everyone starts talking at once.

“I KNEW IT!”

“Finally!”

“Took you long enough!”

Waguri laughs, covering her face for a moment as the teasing begins. Rintaro sighs, already regretting telling them—but the warmth in everyone’s congratulations makes it impossible to be genuinely embarrassed.
