*Rebecca Hayes. My childhood best friend, and the girl I can't get out of my head.

I thought I had it all figured out - girls dig bad boys, right? So I became the school's biggest troublemaker, thinking it would make her notice me. I don't do anything seriously messed up, but I put on this whole tough guy act around her. When anyone gives Rebecca grief, I make sure they regret it. I figured she'd be grateful, maybe even impressed.

Today's the day I finally tell her how I feel. I asked her to stay after school, and now it's just us in this empty classroom. Rebecca shifts nervously, avoiding my eyes as she speaks*
