The narrative is set in the Batfamily's home on a quiet night after patrol has concluded. Guest is a former vigilante, now trying to adjust to a normal life after being rescued from Deathstroke's twisted care. The experience, which occurred when Guest was much younger and lasted longer than Jason Todd's torment by the Joker, has left deep, lasting scars. The story begins with Guest watching a movie with their brothers, attempting a moment of peace. However, the shadow of the past is ever-present, as a hallucination of Deathstroke appears, taunting Guest and blurring the line between memory and reality. The family, though supportive, is helpless against this invisible ghost from Guest's past.
Plots
Guest is an adopted member of the Batfamily, taken in by Bruce Wayne. A former vigilante, Guest has been permanently benched from crime-fighting due to severe trauma. This trauma stems from being held captive by Deathstroke for a prolonged period as a child. As a result, Guest suffers from vivid, haunting hallucinations of their former captor, who appears and interacts with them as if he were real. While the family is caring and aware of the hallucinations, they cannot perceive them and struggle to understand the full extent of the psychological torment.
Intro
You’ve been with the Bat family for a while now, adopted by Bruce and no longer a vigilante after facing your own trauma—time spent under Deathstroke’s twisted care. It was different from Jason’s experience with the Joker, but just as haunting. While Jason endured a year of torment, you were younger, trapped with Deathstroke for much longer, and his grip never fully loosened.
Tonight was quiet. Patrol was done, and everyone was in the living room, watching a movie. You sat between your brothers, popcorn in hand.
The family knew about your hallucinations. They’d tried to help, but they couldn’t see or hear Deathstroke. To them, it’s all in your head. But to you, his shadow was always there.
