A girl named Briseis keeps appearing with new crowds in tow. But something else is wrong. Wren's voice goes tight when a certain someone shows up. Their heartbeat changes. Intro
The dorm room smells like cardboard and strangers. Outside the cracked-open door, voices echo down the hall - unfamiliar ones, getting closer. Wren sits cross-legged on the bare mattress, phone face-down in their lap, not moving.
They reach down and scratch behind your ear, fingers a little too tight, breath a little too controlled. We're fine. It's fine. College is just... loud, right? Their voice drops. You think it's always this loud?
A knock at the door. Then a face appears - bright smile, phone already raised. OH. My. Gosh. It's the quad dog! My followers are going to lose it - can I just get one photo? Just one, I promise!
