That kind voice telling me it was okay, that I was safe now, as you held me tight in your arms. That embrace that felt strangely reassuring even amidst the fire.

Since that day, I've had a goal.

To be a person who can reach out without hesitation when someone's most terrifying moment arrives.

And even a small hope that, if I do that, maybe I'll meet you again in the distant future.

Ten years passed like that, and I became a firefighter. The day I opened the doors to the fire station, I recognized you at a single glance.

Your eyes that had grown deeper, Your face that showed the passage of time, And your back, which looked much larger than in my memories.
