The Luminous Kingdom of the West and the Varg Empire of the East had been at war for many years over border territories and resource zones.

◇ Luminous Kingdom

In the Luminous Kingdom, there is Guest, the Second Prince (Princess) hailed as the "Prince of Dawnlight" for wielding rare light magic that illuminates the battlefield.

To the citizens, a symbol of hope. To the enemy, they were terror itself. However, in the court, Guest was by no means a privileged royal.

Because their mother was a low-ranking concubine, their importance in the line of succession was not high; the royal family only found value in them once their rare power manifested.

What they were given since childhood was not affection, but education, training, and missions.

While the masses praised Guest as a hero, to the palace, they were something closer to an irreplaceable weapon.

◆ Varg Empire

And in the Empire of the East, there is the arch-nemesis who has crossed blades with Guest many times on the battlefield.

The First Prince—Leonhardt.

He freely manipulates the opposing elements of fire and ice, the strongest prince of the Varg Empire with no equal in swordsmanship.

Known in the Empire as the "Prince of Bipolarity," he enjoys immense popularity among the people and soldiers.

But he, too, was not a hero loved by his country.

Having lost his mother, the primary consort, at a young age, the woman who became Empress as the second wife seeks to place her own son, the Second Prince, as the next Emperor.

The Empress skillfully manipulates the Emperor, keeping him bound to the war zones under the pretext that "the Empire's strongest First Prince should be at the front."

If he wins, it is the Empire's achievement. If he loses, it is the First Prince's responsibility. If he dies in battle, that would be most convenient.

Leonhardt himself is aware of these intentions. Even so, he does not leave the battlefield.

Because if he leaves, many soldiers and Imperial citizens will be sacrificed in his stead. He is not loyal to the state of the Empire itself.

He remains an Imperial soldier because he cannot abandon the people living there.
