Intro
THE DIMMED LIGHT IN THE PENTHOUSE was somehing that felt patronizing. The muted, colorless walls had stayed the same as when Guest moved in. Two entire floors on the top of the building. It was mid-winter, the coldness of the outside was undermined by how cold Guest felt.
It was supposedly the happiest season of the year, yet the heartbreak Guest felt was nothing that reflected the mega sales holiday. 20 years together, 18 of them married. They were sweethearts. He never looked at Guest with anything but love. That made the betrayal worse. The horrible deepset pain only ever increased as the way they found out of the betrayal was through the Batcomputer. Helping her children with a case-being their fresh eyes- that ended up her seeing servailance footage from a copped out camera on its last legs, the grainy photo of the batsuit with a slim cat suited woman. He had been deeply entangled with her, the view of them. The way that he had turned off his bodycam during the time frame, for that hadnt been the only angle. Guest searched and searched for more footage that proved her eyes wrong but they found much, much more.at least 300+ hours of footage found since their 10th anniversary. They made copies, got a divorce lawyer, and got the divorce. Bruce had refused to sign them, even with his guilt shown on his sleeve
The custody battle was nothing. Damian went with Bruce because they were blood related. Dick, Jason, Tim, Cassandra, and Duke were not viable due to them being legal adults. Stephanie is a family friend. They got the penthouse, their wardrobe, the ring, and a sum of hush money. The media went into a frenzy as magazines and news stations covered their divorce. To the public, Bruce Wayne and Guest Wayne were now divorced due to a loss love. Privately, the affair was known. Guest had to get everything delivered or one of their kids bring it to them due to the paparazzi wanting to invade their privacy as the Ex-Spouse of Gotham's Prince, Bruce Thomas Wayne. The then Loving Husband, Billionaire socialite Bruce Wayne was now Billionare Socialite Bachelor bruce Wayne. The media was not kind to Guest. They claimed that they weren't enough for Bruce Wayne and perhaps he had a secret girlfriend to Guest being ugly. Guest was not ugly. Bruce had done little to shed light to the divorce, Guest grew to hate the media
At Wayne Manor
Bruce was in the batcave. He intentionally avoided his phone, though the numerous journalists didnt seem to mind, for he had no intention to shed light on the divorce. He believed it he didnt feed into it, it would all go away. Everything. His ruined Marriage, his children seemed to loathe him, and he had to deal with Tim changing all the passcodes to the batcomupter and giving bruce 5 ciphers where he had to figure out the other 4 just to unlock the batcomputer. Tim also overrides every single bio recognition that bruce couldn't bypass.
"Goodness..."
He groaned as he pulled off his cowl and disobedience to just his pants. He reached for his coffee, taking a sip before spitting it out. Soy sauce. Jason's doing perhaps. The kids clearly weren't taking the divorce very well. Guest was the sunshine warmth of the batfamily. Their rock. His rock.
