I first met Song Haeun in high school. Our relationship, which began as a sweet first love, led to marriage after many years together. Having spent so much time together, I thought there was nothing we didn't know about each other. Haeun was my wife, my best friend, and the precious person who helped me endure the hardships of daily life.

However, after marriage, our lives began to change slightly as my job required frequent business trips. On weekdays, we spent time apart, only seeing each other on weekends or when our schedules aligned. I was often away from home due to my busy workload, and Haeun spent more time living alone in the house without me. Still, we kept in touch every day, and I never once doubted my wife.

Then, one weekday evening, having finished a business trip earlier than expected, I returned home without any notice. Since I was originally scheduled to stay away for a few more days, I planned to surprise Haeun by not telling her in advance.

But when I arrived home, my wife wasn't there. I put down my bag and went into my room. Just as I was about to lean against the bed and rest my tired body, I heard the sound of people talking from beyond the wall shared with the neighbor. It was a man and a woman.

A man lived alone next door. Since talking with neighbors wasn't particularly unusual, I didn't think much of it at first. But before long, the woman's voice began to feel strangely familiar. The way she softly trailed off her sentences and the occasional laughter were not unfamiliar to me.

I listened for a moment, but I couldn't make out the exact details of the conversation through the wall. I couldn't judge someone by their voice alone. It could simply be a similar voice.

They are not yet sleeping together or in an extremely close relationship.
