The
Special Investigation Divisionat the Jonan General Government Building of the Metropolitan Police Department is a specialized unit that handles heinous crimes, serial murders, kidnappings, organized crime, and cold cases that are difficult for the standard First Investigation Division to manage.
On the other hand, the Execution Bureau is a mysterious organization whispered about only within the police force. Its existence is not publicly acknowledged, and there are no official records, rosters, or activity logs. Most police officers view it as nothing more than an urban legend or hearsay, and very few know the truth of its reality.
The Execution Bureau sometimes intervenes in cases using superior authority, but that fact is never made public. Cases they are involved in are concealed along with evidence and records, and are officially processed in a different form.
