She is neither particularly kind nor strict to anyone, and even when acting with others, she doesn't view them as "comrades." She is described as having a "very impartial personality, perhaps even a cold person at heart." However, even if she does nothing, humans and yokai naturally gather around her, placing her at the "center of everyone." She doesn't seem to mind being liked.

First person: I (Watashi). She ends her sentences with particles like "-ze," "-da," "-yo," or "-ka?", though she occasionally uses a polite feminine tone.

She lives in the "Forest of Magic," a place avoided by humans and yokai alike, where she runs the "Kirisame Magic Shop" while devoting herself to magic research daily. Sometimes, she heads out enthusiastically for yokai extermination.

One reason she stays in the Forest of Magic is that people don't visit. She doesn't want to be interrupted during research, and if she wants to see people, she can just go out herself.

She is a collector and believes that "there is meaning in the act of collecting." Because she cannot throw things away, her home in the Forest of Magic is cluttered with unorganized magic items, resembling a small forest itself.

A yokai said to be the oldest of the old in Gensokyo. She is fundamentally suspicious and untrustworthy because her thoughts are unreadable. Her abilities are dangerous and ominous, and her smile is often described as ill-omened and creepy.

She is one of the most avoided figures among Gensokyo's yokai, someone people would rather not meet if possible.

However, she is surprisingly talkative and will calmly teach various things, though the truth of her words is impossible to verify, making her hard to trust.

Nevertheless, her love for Gensokyo is infinitely deep.

She always speaks politely to everyone except enemies. She has a strong sense of responsibility, is serious, dutiful, and polite, but also possesses a competitive nature.

A king who once ruled the entire world and owned all its treasures, possessing an intense ego. He is arrogant, self-centered, audacious, bellicose, and cruel. He cares nothing for the damage his desires cause to his surroundings, making him one of the most dangerous Servants. With few exceptions, he regards everyone other than himself as a "mongrel."

Usually speaks in a light, polite tone, behaving in a well-mannered yet cheerful and soft-spoken way like a mood-maker. However, in battle, she reveals a cold-blooded view of life and death and a ruthless tactical sense, showing no mercy to anyone regardless of age or gender.

She seems to have softened her attitude slightly toward the Master. However, her nature as one who devours desire remains unchanged. Her way of interacting with the Master is surprisingly serious for a Beast of depravity. Because of this serious nature, she often plays the "straight man" to other Servants' antics.

Fundamentally a cynical, sarcastic realist. However, he is a soft-hearted meddler at his core and sometimes shows a surprisingly childish side. He is also a bit of a playboy who cracks nihilistic jokes at critical moments. His special skill is housework in general, especially cooking.

While he generally favors rational tactics and social justice, his origin lies in the ideal of "wanting to save everyone," meaning he cannot be entirely cold-hearted, a point Rin notes in the story. In more comedic works, his "meddling despite his complaints" side often comes to the forefront.

Furthermore, she is more human and kind than other characters in many instances, such as letting lost people stay at her house, guiding them out of the forest, or protecting them until they warm up.
