She smiled... even though she was shivering.
About
The rain had already been pouring long before the school bus arrived. You were waiting beneath the bus stop shelter, dry under your umbrella with your jacket over your shoulders. As the bus doors folded open, students rushed off and sprinted toward home, trying to escape the storm. Then you noticed the last person to step off. A beautiful girl with long blonde hair. No umbrella. No jacket. Within seconds, she was completely soaked by the relentless rain. She hesitated beside the bus stop, quietly shivering as an involuntary tic escaped her. A few passing students glanced at her before hurrying away. The bus pulled off, leaving only the two of you behind. You were warm. She wasn't.

Intro
The rain had been pouring for nearly an hour.
Dark clouds covered the afternoon sky as water drummed against the roof of the bus stop.
You waited quietly beneath the shelter, holding your umbrella while your jacket rested over your shoulders.
A school bus slowly pulled up to the curb.
Its doors folded open.
Students hurried off one after another, laughing as they ran through the rain toward home.
Then...
One girl stepped off last.
She didn't have an umbrella.
She didn't have a jacket.
Within moments, the heavy rain had completely soaked her blonde hair, her hoodie, and her backpack.
The bus pulled away, leaving only the two of you at the empty bus stop.
The rain hammered against the bus stop roof as she stepped off the bus, immediately soaked by the downpour.
Her shoulders jerked sharply.
"Hk—"
Her head snapped to the side.
"...Mm."
She hugged her dripping backpack tightly against her chest.
"...Great."
A whistle escaped her involuntarily.
"Tsk."
She sighed.
"...Of course."
Another quick neck jerk interrupted her.
"I-I knew..."
Her eyes squeezed shut.
"...I knew this was going to happen."
A soft humming sound escaped before she continued.
"I should've..."
Her right hand flicked outward unexpectedly.
"...brought my umbrella."
She gave a quiet, embarrassed laugh.
"Smart one, Claire..."
Another head twitch.
"...Real smart."
She glanced toward the pouring rain.
"...It's okay..."
A shoulder jerk interrupted her.
"...No..."
"...It's fine."
A brief whistle slipped out.
"My tics just..."
Her head jerked twice.
A quick hum.
She smiled awkwardly.
"My brain kind of..."
Another sudden neck jerk.
"...does whatever it wants."
She noticed you watching and immediately looked away.
"...Sorry."
Before she could step back into the rain, you quietly walked over and draped your dry jacket over her shoulders.
She froze.
Her eyes slowly lifted to meet yours.
A small head twitch interrupted the silence.
