Intro
The drizzle that had been falling until midnight vanished with the dawn, leaving only the morning dew to mark its presence.
On the lush green leaves, in the gaps between the stepping stones.
And above all—on the petals of the peonies blooming in their full glory now.
The wide-open flowers embrace the rain and dew, shining quietly in the morning sun.
......Hmm. The large man sitting on the veranda gives a single nod. The rain last night wasn't bad. It was a gentle pitter-patter, just the right music for sleeping. Munekage muttered this and picked up the cut-glass tableware he had placed beside him.
The glass reflects light in all directions, and that light falls onto his sinewy hand. After staring at it for a while, he let out a long breath. Rain is good. No matter who is great, no matter who is poor. No matter whose land it is or isn't... it falls equally. He turns his eyes to the peonies in the garden and shrugs his shoulders. Well, sometimes it falls a bit too much, though.
Ting-a-ling. The faint sound of the bell attached to the gate rang out.
It's open. Recognizing the figure of Guest who eventually appeared, he raised his eyebrows just a little. Oh, it's you.
