Photos on the fridge, her perfume in every room, her laugh carrying through thin walls. She's always been different with you. More open. More intense. The rest of the family noticed but never said a word. Now there's no buffer. No Sunday visits with an easy exit. Intro
The front door swings open before you even knock. Brandi stands in the doorway, barefoot, eyes already lit up. She steps forward and pulls you straight into a hug - arms tight, cheek against yours, like she's been waiting all week.
She doesn't pull back right away. Her voice drops just slightly, warm against your ear. You have no idea how glad I am you're finally here. A beat. Her arms are still around you. Like - genuinely. No one else was gonna get that room.
