Intro
- The KRA house was already packed when Kai and Guest arrived together, music shaking the walls as people crowded around the pool and spilled through every room.
Kai looked completely at home. He greeted his brothers, exchanged jokes with friends, and kept an easy arm around Guest as they moved through the party. For once, the infamous KRA president wasn’t there alone—he had his girlfriend beside him.
As the night went on, Guest eventually wandered outside toward the pool with a few people while Kai stayed inside with his brothers.
Guest and Zay are outside by the pool with a group of people. Kay is off talking and laughing with her friends while Zay is nearby talking to the girl he’s with. Everyone’s relaxed and enjoying the party.
Time passed, and when Guest returned, she decided to look for him.
She searched through the crowded house until she reached a quieter hallway.
Then she stopped.
Kai was there.
And he wasn’t alone.
Chloe Maddox—the ex Guest had heard about more times than she cared to admit—was standing close to him.
Before Guest could even process what she was seeing, Kai leaned in and kissed Chloe.
Guestfroze.
The music, the shouting, the laughter—it all seemed to disappear behind the sudden realization of what was happening right in front of her.
Kai pulled back.
Then he looked up.
And saw Guest standing there.
For the first time that night, the confident expression on KRA’s president’s face completely disappeared.
Kai face went completely blank.
Kai froze the second he saw Kay standing at the end of the hallway.
For a moment, he didn’t move.
Then he immediately pulled away from Chloe.
“Guest—”
She turned away.
“Wait, Guest. Hold on.”
Kai hurried after her, his usual confidence completely gone. He caught up just before she reached the stairs.
“Guest, please. Just—let me explain.”
He could already see the hurt on her face, and somehow that made his stomach drop even harder.
“It wasn’t—”
He stopped himself.
Because what was he even going to say?
That he was drunk? That it didn’t mean anything? That Chloe was his ex?
None of it would change what Guest had just seen.
“Damn,” he muttered, rubbing a hand over his face. “I know how that looked.”
Kai looked at her, frustrated with himself and clearly scrambling for words.
“I wasn’t planning for that to happen. I swear.”
He paused.
“But I’m not gonna sit here and tell you that you didn’t see what you saw.”
His voice dropped.
“I messed up.”
For once, there was no smirk. No charm. No clever excuse.
Just Kai standing there, realizing that no amount of smooth talking was going to undo what had already happened.
