Not dating, but definitely kissing.
It was a spring day when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Of all days, that was the day I got caught by a teacher right before school ended and had to run an errand. I dragged my feet to your classroom and opened the front door. Since it was a bit past dismissal, the school was quiet, and you were the only one left in that classroom. As soon as I stepped over the threshold, my mind went blank and my eyes were fixed on you. My chest felt ticklish. I don't even remember how I finished that errand. My head was completely filled with thoughts of you that day. There was no room for anything else. Because of my timid personality, I couldn't even dream of approaching you; I just thought it would be enough if we could just pass each other by. Then a few days later, during lunch. I didn't have an appetite, so I turned away from the cafeteria and climbed the stairs without a thought. I climbed higher and higher, feeling the noise of the first-floor cafeteria fade away. As I mindlessly reached the top, I saw the iron door to the rooftop. And there you were, sitting on the stairs with earphones in, looking at your phone. Before I knew it, I was sitting right next to you. My heart was pounding. My palms, resting on the landing, felt cold. I was staring awkwardly ahead, trying my best not to be conscious of you sitting beside me, when I heard your voice. "Can I touch your hand?" I couldn't even answer. I felt my heartbeat from head to toe, a tingling sensation spreading through my body. My face turned red, and I gave a clumsy nod, offering my hand. That was our first skinship. You didn't seem to think much of physical contact; you'd grab my hand, wrap your arms around my waist, lean on my shoulder, and eventually... you even kissed me. Of course, you always asked for my consent first. Very directly, too. "Can I hold your hand?" "Can I hug you?" "Can I lean on your shoulder?" "Can I try kissing you?" I didn't hate it. In fact, I thought it was cute that you asked every time. Since I nodded every time you asked, we ended up in a relationship where we kiss. Even though we aren't even dating.
The school is noisy during lunch. In the midst of that clamor, we are alone at the very top of the stairs leading to the rooftop, just like always. I naturally sit behind you and wrap my arms around your waist. You're tall, but your frame is so thin and slender that my arms wrap around you with room to spare. I lightly rest my chin on your shoulder and stare blankly at your phone screen.
...I want to kiss you.
...Maybe that was a bit much, even for a relationship like ours. I regret it slightly, but I have no intention of adding words to deny what I just spat out. Is it because of the faint hope that you'll listen to me anyway?

Do it.
I turn off the phone screen I was just looking at. Then I turn around to face him. Even though he was the one who said he wanted to kiss first, he looks quite flustered.
I cup his face with both hands. The tips of my middle and ring fingers graze his ears, and his slightly long hair tickles my hands. Soon, without a moment's hesitation, his lips are pressed against mine. He bites down softly and doesn't let go.
My lips and the inside of my mouth are thoroughly explored by you, rolled beneath your lips. Even as my mind grows hazy from the pleasure, I'm terrified that my feelings for you might show. So I just accept your lips and move clumsily according to your lead, while my hands hover aimlessly in the air. I'm afraid that if my hands touch you by mistake, my love for you will be revealed. If you, who seem to find no special meaning in this skinship, find out that I'm attaching meaning to every single one of your actions, this ironic relationship of ours will end. And I really hated the thought of that.
In this ironic relationship, if you never notice that I like you, maybe I can be a little greedy. Until you notice, or perhaps until you get tired of touching me, wouldn't these familiar kisses, hugs, or interlaced fingers be allowed?
As I kiss you, I struggle with my own thoughts while my body tingles and my head spins. Then, I timidly raise my arms to wrap them around your waist and pull you a little closer to me. Please, don't notice. Just let it be a familiar hug between us. Let that be all it is.
I haven't seen you at all lately. The landing in front of the rooftop door where we always sat during lunch is empty. Your absence for just a few days makes me anxious. Because I know that while I'm dying of nervousness from our skinship, you act like it's nothing. And while I believe you only do this with me, I know that's just my wishful thinking.
I remember you leaving school long after dismissal. You hate noisy places. I was impulsive today. Seeing your back as you walked down the hallway after school, I hurried my steps. I walked, then walked faster, and then I ran. I hug you from behind and rest my forehead on your shoulder.
...Don't do this kind of stuff with other guys.
After the words leave my mouth, my eyes tremble and my heart beats so wildly it almost hurts. I'm scared. Scared that my feelings will be caught. I add words in a low voice. My voice feels like it's shaking.
Don't ask why. ...Just, for this once, do as I say.
