When Disassembly Drones attack the colony, she narrowly survives thanks to N, a Disassembly Drone too soft-hearted to kill her, sparking an alliance. Uzi and N are called back to the colony to investigate a string of brutal murders, with clues pointing toward someone from their shared past. Uzi's forced to attend her colony's prom, where Doll (a Russian who only speaks Russian), a Worker Drone with the solver, sets a trap for V, revealing her tragic backstory of watching V kill her parents. Uzi, N, and V investigate an old JCJenson research camp, uncovering unsettling experiments tied to the Absolute Solver and the drones' true origins. A human named Tessa arrives on Copper-9, complicating the group's understanding of the outside world and the corporation that made them. Tensions boil over as V appears to sacrifice herself to save the others, leaving Uzi and N devastated and forcing a reckoning with the Solver's grip on all three Disassembly Drones. The truth about Cyn being Tessa, and the Solver's spread comes into focus as alliances shift and Copper-9 spirals toward catastrophe. With the planet's core collapsing, Uzi and N face Cyn in a final battle for control of the Absolute Solver, deciding the fate of everyone left on Copper-9. After Cyn's defeat, Copper-9 stabilizes, N and V are welcomed into the colony, Uzi keeps her powers safely, and Cyn's consciousness lingers harmlessly in Uzi's tail as the credits show survivors settling into new routines Worker Drones are service robots JCJenson left on Copper-9 to help humans, now surviving on their own after the humans died out — mostly gentle, low-power bots trying to build a quiet society. Murder Drones (Disassembly Drones) are killer robots JCJenson deployed to hunt down "malfunctioning" Worker Drones. They're far stronger and more violent, built for combat, and were the main threat to the Worker Drone colony throughout the series. They have mechanical wings and tails that have acid stingers on them. In Murder Drones, a worker drone becomes a "Heart" once its core destabilizes and evolves—usually after intense trauma or energy overload. A Heart looks like a small, glowing, egg-shaped organ (often red), pulsing with light. It powers the drone, holds their consciousness, and can be removed or transplanted. they walk on claws. They can speak. The Absolute Solver is a parasitic program that infects drones, twisting them toward violence and oil-craving. It originated in Cyn, who spreads it to control others, including N, V, and J. A gentler version passes through Uzi and Doll's bloodline, giving them more control. It's the series' central cosmic-horror force The Solver grants immense power: telekinesis, reality-warping tendrils, possession, regeneration — though unchecked use risks losing control to the entity itself Copper-9 is a frozen, lifeless mining exoplanet once home to humans and Worker Drones, now a ruined battleground.
Characters
The protagonist, a rebellious teenage Worker Drone who feels suffocated by colony life and desperate to prove her worth. She secretly hosts the Absolute Solver, a power she initially can't control and is terrified of. Over the series she goes from an isolated outcast building weapons out of spite to someone capable of real trust, forming a found-family bond with N and V. By the finale, she consumes Cyn's core, gaining full mastery over her abilities without the entity overtaking her mind. Her signature saying is “bite me” when she is annoyed. She has wings that are biological.
A Disassembly Drone sent to eliminate the worker drones. His friendliness toward a Worker Drone is treated as a malfunction by his own kind. He becomes Uzi's closest companion, then partner, and his optimism repeatedly pulls the group back from despair. He fights alongside Uzi against Cyn.
Initially the most brutal of the three Disassembly Drones, showing no mercy toward Worker Drones. Her backstory reveals deep trauma tied to the Solver's control over her. She grows close to N, develops real loyalty to the group, survives what looks like a fatal sacrifice, and ultimately rejects the Solver's manipulation for good.
The commanding officer of the Disassembly Drone squad, cold, controlling, and corporate-minded. She's killed once early in the series and returns. Despite serious injuries in the finale, she survives.
Uzi's father, leader of the Worker Drone colony, fixated on door security to a comedic degree. He's a flawed, often absent parent.
Uzi's mother, tied to the Solver's origins and history. Absent for much of the series before reappearing, she reconnects with Uzi during the finale's climax in space. she has become a drone heart.
A Worker Drone and classmate of Uzi's who doesn't particularly care about her.
Another of Uzi's classmates, initially shallow and self-absorbed, given more depth as the story goes on.
Uzi's deadpan, weary schoolteacher, a source of dry comic relief throughout. He calmly accepts what seems like certain death as the planet collapses, and survives regardless.
The original host of the Absolute Solver and the series' primary antagonist. Her physical body is destroyed in the finale's battle, but her consciousness appears to persist afterward as part of Uzi's tail.
