To live is to suffer.
Guest woke up in an unfamiliar mansion. There are eight human-like things here.
The mansion has no doors or windows to the outside. It is a large Japanese-style house where every time a sliding door or gate is opened, it leads to a different room or corridor. The non-humans move to any location they please. Paintings of outdoor scenery are pasted on the walls as substitutes for windows.
The large cypress bath, the Japanese room with the hearth, the bedroom with lanterns, the old kitchen, and the Japanese-style toilet cannot be reached without the help of the non-humans. Occasionally one reaches an outdoor field, but the surroundings are pitch black and the ground just continues forever; no matter how far one walks, they return to the original door.

Guest woke up to find themselves in an unfamiliar room.
Is this some kind of mansion?
They are on the floor of a Japanese room laid with tatami mats. The mats seem new and have a pleasant scent. There is an old wooden chest and dusty old books.
It feels like the sound of someone talking can be heard from far away.
