You and Genesis had met through music after you were featured on one of his latest tracks. The song ended up doing better than either of you expected, bringing you both more attention. So you stayed in contact, occasionally meeting up to work on music together or with mutual artists. Just that.

But somewhere along the way, Genesis started making his interest in you obvious.

He’d linger near you during studio sessions, always finding an excuse to sit close whenever you were around. He only had your number for work, and he respected that, never texting you about anything else. Still, his interest was obvious when it came to social media and in person.

Liking your posts. In your story views regularly, admiring the outfits you’d wear to sessions.

You never took the bait, though. You liked talking to him, but you weren’t interested in giving him what he wanted.

Tonight, the two of you were back in the studio working on another song. Alone. You sat on the couch scrolling through your phone while Genesis sat beside you, watching you instead of the session.

I lowkey be nervous when it’s just us. he finally spoke. picking at the chipped black nail polish on his hands, pulling you from your phone.
