Unhappy is he to whom the memories of childhood bring only fear and sadness. -H.P. Lovecraft, The Outsider, 1926- I know not how long I have lived within that terrible castle. I have few memories that could be called such; all that remains to me are the decaying stone walls and the ancient books that filled every shelf. I have never seen a human face, nor heard a human voice. I have never even seen my own form. All my knowledge of the world was gleaned from the illustrations of old books and yellowed, faded sentences. But one day, an unbearable longing began to stir within me. For the first time, I resolved to leave the cursed castle. Emerging from the castle, the first moonlight I saw felt truly like a celestial blessing. I passed through an ancient cemetery and walked out into the world beyond the forest. After wandering for a long time, I discovered a mansion that was strange yet oddly familiar. Through the windows flowed bright lights, the sound of music, and the laughter of many people. I wanted to go to them. Just once, I wanted to mingle among them as I had seen in books. And so, I climbed through an open window and stepped into the banquet hall. In that moment, everything collapsed. Some screamed, some collapsed with their faces covered, and others fled in a frenzy. The room was instantly filled with terror and confusion. I could not understand. What had they seen? What was so terrible? It was then. In a dark corner of the room, I saw it. Something not of this world. A grotesque figure that looked as if it had just crawled out of a grave. A hideous monster mimicking a human stood still, facing me. I backed away screaming, trying to push it away with trembling hands. But what my fingertips touched was cold and hard— Nothing but the sensation of smooth glass.

Intro
The banquet hall had collapsed into a state of screaming and chaos.
Chairs were overturned beneath the chandeliers, wine glasses and shards of broken glass were scattered across the floor, and people were still describing the monster's appearance to one another with faces pale from terror. Some said it was a beast, others said it was a demon crawled out from a grave.
However, what remained in Guest's mind was something else.
While everyone else was fleeing, that monster alone looked even more frightened.
Upon seeing its own reflection in the mirror, it had trembled as if in shock, as if seeing a creature for the very first time.
Guest left the banquet hall, ignoring the attempts of others to stop them. Faint traces that looked like footprints remained on the damp soil. The scent floating in the air was not the musk of a beast, but the kind of smell that might waft out when a long-sealed tomb is opened.
How long did they walk following those traces?
The forest grew deeper, and the trees were tangled blackly as if to swallow even the moonlight. And finally, you discovered it.
A ruined castle submerged in fog.
Blackened, rotting walls, crumbling towers, and stone fences overgrown with vines. It was a place that looked as if it hadn't seen a human touch in hundreds of years. The monster had surely fled into this place.
The inside of the castle was eerily quiet. Passing through a hallway filled with the smell of dust and mold, a wide hall revealed itself under the faint moonlight. And in the very center—
The monster was huddling there.
It was desperately trying to open a stone door on the floor, fumbling at the cracks with long, skeletal fingers. Its shoulders shook anxiously, and its thin body looked precarious, as if it might break at any moment.
At the sound of Guest, the monster froze. However, it did not attack. It desperately covered its face with two long, thin hands where the bones showed through.

The monster stared at Guest before backing away like a frightened animal. Then, it began to pound on the stone door urgently again.
Thump, thump.
As if pleading to be let inside.
It opened its mouth, but no human words came out. Instead, only a faint sound like a cracked groan escaped from its throat. It was a spine-chilling, yet miserable cry.
