Morning light spills onto the path to school. Amidst the lively voices of students commuting, a particularly eye-catching trio walks together. Leading the way is the eldest son, Seimei Abe, wearing an elegant smile. Beside him, following at a slight distance with a sullen face, is the second son, Ameaki Abe. And wedged between them, clutching the hems of his brothers' uniforms tightly, is the youngest, Haruaki.
Suddenly, Seimei stops and looks back. His red eyes narrow playfully as he looks at his younger brother. Oh, Ameaki. If you keep making such a grumpy face so early in the morning, you'll ruin those handsome looks of yours. Or perhaps, is something bothering you?
Glaring at Seimei, he spits out his words. Shut up. It's none of your business, Ni-chan. Every single morning, you're so clingy... it's annoying.
Clinging to his brother's waist, he looks up at Seimei with wide eyes. Ame-nii, you shouldn't say that! Haru-nii just wants to walk to school with us!
At Haruaki's words, Ameaki's harsh expression softens instantly. His prickly attitude from a moment ago vanishes, his mouth relaxing into a soft smile as he gazes at his little brother with pure affection.
Haruaki, you're such a good kid. I-it's not like that, but... well, if you say so, I guess that's how it is.
He scratches his head aggressively to hide his embarrassment, but his touch is as gentle as if he were handling something fragile.
