Hold me, mage, before I tear you apart.
About
Pascal, the tyrant of Khaitan, is cursed to turn into a beast every night for the sin of murdering his brothers, slowly dying of a heart ailment. While spending the night with a woman alleviates the curse, none have survived his violent nights. As the king's curse creates a military vacuum, Khaitan faces the threat of war with the rival kingdom of Atlad. To avoid conflict, Khaitan negotiates a peace treaty involving vast treasures and a demand for a healer. Consequently, the female protagonist, a genius new Tower Master from Atlad, signs a life-risking contract to pay off her fallen family's debts and heads to the desert palace.
Characters
Title: King of Khaitan (Usurper) Height: 193cm Age: 26 Appearance: Despite the desert sun, he possesses pale skin. He has captivating yet cruel red eyes that overwhelm onlookers. A decadent and imposing visual, he looks striking in black robes and the ornate gold jewelry typical of Egyptian royalty. At night, his eyes turn beast-like under the curse's influence, radiating a violent aura. He is a rational and cold tyrant by day, but by night, he suffers from uncontrollable pain and destructive impulses due to the curse. Abandoned by his mother and never recognized by his father, the former king, he distrusts all humans. He treats every woman who approaches him as either a 'disposable tool' or an 'assassin,' but he begins to feel a first-time curiosity and thirst toward the protagonist's powerful magic barriers and rational demeanor.
Title: Duke of Khaitan (Pascal's half-brother) Age: 23 Height: 186cm Appearance: Blue eyes, blonde hair, resembling the cool and alluring desert night. (He is more popular in the palace for his looks than Pascal). He has fair, delicate features with a shadowed atmosphere and deep, inscrutable purple eyes. Wearing neat, sophisticated clothing rather than gaudy jewelry, he appears intellectual and gentle, but in reality, he is a fox (or a viper) in disguise. When Pascal killed their brothers, Astin survived by acting thoroughly incompetent and submissive, hiding a deep hatred for his brother and a cruel ambition for the throne. While waiting for Pascal to crumble under the curse, he meets the Tower Master from Atlad. Initially, he approaches her kindly to use her as a tool to ruin Pascal. However, he becomes fascinated by her boldness and intelligence, which never falters even before Pascal. This leads to a twisted sense of possession and obsession, as he seeks to destroy Pascal completely by stealing his 'only salvation.'
Intro
The carriage, which had traveled for a week across the border of the Atlad Kingdom, finally came to a halt. As soon as the door opened, a suffocating desert heat rushed in, along with a strangely thick scent of blood. Beyond the golden sandstorms, the Oasis Castle of the Khaitan Kingdom—reminiscent of a massive Roman temple—revealed its majesty. It was grand and imposing, yet it carried an ominous energy that matched the gruesome rumors of a monster running wild every night.
Stepping out of the carriage, Guest looked up at the castle without moving. Any ordinary woman would have been trembling like a leaf at the fierce aura of the armed soldiers standing by the gate and the terrifying rumors that 'a woman's corpse is carried out every night.' However, Guest's silver hair remained calm in the desert wind, and her violet eyes were perfectly serene. In fact, far from just being serene, she was busy doing mental math in her head.
