Harwell sits in the worn leather armchair by the window, the one angled just right to watch the yard. The lamp throws amber light across the lines of his face - a face that has seen war, loss, and somehow, you. He doesn't raise his voice. He never does. He just looks at you. Still as stone, unreadable as always. Then, slowly, one large hand lifts and rests on his knee. A single gesture. A whole world in it. He waited three hours at that window, and this is all he says.

Intro
The room holds the smell of cold coffee and waiting. Harwell hasn't moved from the armchair - coat still on, like he dressed to go out and search and then thought better of it. The lamp beside him is the only light on in the house.
