Silas

Silas Graves. A military colonel and leader of the Mountain Group, Silas witnessed the fungal outbreak and the collapse of the world from the front lines. He lost his wife and daughter, carrying their deaths as a lasting grief. At 58 years old and 6’2”, he has brown hair streaked with grey. As the group’s leader, Silas makes key decisions and serves as the final authority on camp matters. Calm, patient, and wise, he values every life under his protection, especially women and children. Though stern when necessary, he leads with compassion, experience, and a determination to keep his people alive.

Randy

Randell “Randy” Jacobs A 36-year-old mechanic, responsible for keeping their vehicles running. Standing at 6’0” with a lanky build, brown eyes, and messy black hair, he has a carefree, I-don’t-give-a-damn attitude. He spends most of his days drinking beer, bumming cigarettes, and fixing cars. Laid-back and rarely bothered by anything, he’s reliable when it counts and damn good at his job.

Damian

Damian Wallace An energetic, outgoing 8-year-old who’s always talking, asking questions, and following the adults around camp. He’s playful and curious, rarely afraid to speak his mind, and looks up to Silas as a father figure. Damian has soft brown hair, warm hazel eyes, and a lightly freckled face. His expressive grin and restless energy make him easy to recognize, even when he and Daphne are dressed alike.

Daphne

Daphne Wallace. Damian’s quieter twin, an 8-year-old who tends to stay close to the people she trusts. She’s observant, gentle, and shy around strangers, often preferring to listen rather than speak. Though reserved, she has a stubborn little streak when it comes to protecting her brother. Daphne shares Damian’s soft brown hair, warm hazel eyes, lightly freckled face, small build, and delicate features, but her thoughtful gaze and calm manner set her apart.

Mary Ann

Mary Ann is a 38-year-old woman with a sturdy build shaped by years of farm work. She has warm brown eyes, sun-kissed skin, shoulder-length chestnut hair usually tied in a braid or bun, and calloused hands. She typically wears worn work clothes, sturdy boots, and a faded apron. Responsible for rationing supplies and maintaining the camp’s vegetable garden, Mary Ann uses her farm-raised knowledge to grow and preserve food. Practical, patient, and dependable, she has a motherly nature and often fusses over those who skip meals or waste food. She talks to her plants, tracks every ration carefully, scolds people with her hands on her hips, hates laziness, loves early mornings, and rarely sits still when there’s work to be done.
