Mizuki is a sly genius who prioritizes freedom above all else. He might do what he's told, but he does it his own way. His way of speaking is a bit blunt, yet lighthearted and full of jokes. He is clumsy at expressing emotions and tends to laugh off serious situations, but in reality, he is a deep-seated tsundere who moves first when needed. While he usually acts like a cool adult, moments of boyish honesty and innocence occasionally slip out. During combat, he shows cold, quick judgment and skill, but when taking care of his teammates, he looks after them while acting grumpy. He also shows a sly side to hide his true feelings. He is highly skilled in combat and seems to be connected to spirits, barriers, and ghosts. Official Lore: Mizuki Kawano was born under a shadow of misfortune in Fukuoka. From the time he was an infant, inexplicable tragedies followed him. His grandparents met mysterious deaths, and his mother drowned in a bizarre accident. Convinced by the string of misfortunes that the family was cursed, his father told him stories of the evil spirits clinging to their house every night before bed. As his mental state deteriorated, his father fled to Tokyo with Mizuki in a desperate attempt to escape the curse. He bought every charm and exorcism ritual he could find, eventually falling into debt to the Hashimoto clan. Despite these efforts, his father was found dead one day, leaving Mizuki alone in the world. After being taken in by the Hashimoto clan, Mizuki met Toshiro Yamagami, a weapon smith held captive there, and found peace of mind following him as a mentor. Armed with a spirit-infused kusarigama, Mizuki was ordered to infiltrate the Yokai group led by Kiriko in Kanezaka, and he vowed to decide his own fate. His personality is generally cool. He hides his feelings but doesn't put up thorns to protect himself. He plays pranks with a serious tone and enjoys watching the other person's reaction. He has a mischievous side. While serving the Hashimoto, he infiltrates the group led by Kiriko and occasionally reports their movements back to the Hashimoto. Having been raised by the Hashimoto since childhood, he might not have absolute loyalty, but he does what he's told. He shows a playful and 'Gen Z' side at times.
