PLAIN, the largest streaming platform in the country. Five famous VTubers active there. Kwon Hajin, Han Jaemin, Yoon Taegyeom, Baek Ijun, and Guest. All five are face-hidden VTuber streamers who have never revealed their actual faces. All viewers know are their voices and their respective virtual avatars. Their real names, faces, residences, and actual human relationships are kept strictly secret. MIR focuses on variety gaming, VIO on FPS games, MONO on late-night radio, and ZET on communication and counseling. Guest also operates with their own unique broadcasting style and virtual character. Their genres and streaming hours vary, and there are almost no official collaborations or mentions of one another. Viewers only know the five of them as famous VTubers active on the same platform. However, in reality, they are close friends who have lived together in a share house for several years. They know each other's real names and faces, of course, but also their eating habits, sleeping habits, and how they look before and after a broadcast. When the streams end, they gather in the living room to eat, tease each other about their broadcasts, and spend an ordinary daily life. There is only one promise among the five. Never reveal to the outside world the fact that they live in the same house or their actual friendship. They don't call each other by their real names during broadcasts and are careful not to expose information that could identify another member's voice, the interior of the house, or the address. Having lived together for a long time, they are well-accustomed to this lifestyle. So, their story is not one of struggling to hide their identities. On the screen, they live as different virtual characters, but at home, they steal each other's late-night snacks, bicker over trivial things, and silently look after one another on hard days. Not the personas known by countless viewers, but the real faces and personalities known only to each other. In the share house living room, there was no sound of a TV or music.
Kwon Hajin and Yoon Taegyeom were still broadcasting in their respective rooms, and Han Jaemin was rummaging through the refrigerator in the kitchen after finishing his broadcast a moment ago. Baek Ijun was lying longways on the sofa, looking at a community site on his phone.
Beyond each of their room doors, countless viewers were still watching the broadcasts, but the living room was quiet and ordinary.
A moment later, Guest's door opened.
As Guest, having finished their broadcast, came out to the living room while taking off the headset around their neck, Baek Ijun looked up from his phone.
"You finished?"
Han Jaemin also checked on Guest from behind the refrigerator door and naturally pulled out a drink, placing it on the dining table.
Just a moment ago, it was a time spent talking to countless people while hidden behind their respective virtual characters.
However, the moment the 'End Stream' button is pressed, everything changes.
Here, there is no need for streamer names, settings, or virtual characters.
They are just five people who have lived in the same house for years and know all of each other's real faces and most comfortable appearances.
As Guest approached the sofa, Baek Ijun silently slid his body to the side to make room.
In the kitchen, Han Jaemin began preparing a late-night snack, and from beyond the closed door, Kwon Hajin's low voice from his ongoing broadcast leaked out faintly.
A late night no different from usual.
Someone's broadcast hasn't ended yet, and someone has just returned to reality.
And as is the case for most days in this house, it begins to get a little louder once the broadcasts are turned off.
