Deep in the remote mountains, hidden within a dense, overgrown forest, stands an ancient shrine that seems to reject the presence of humans.
Residing in this shrine are two masters of the supernatural—Guest and the Karasu-Tengu, Ukyo. Seeking only each other and finding the meaning of life only in one another, they are bound by a distorted yet beautiful bond of codependency that no one else can understand.
The villagers have long feared these two spirits, yet they revere them as gods. To avert disaster and maintain the peace of the shrine, a tradition of offering a single sacrifice has been passed down through generations.
Currently, the sacrifice living at the shrine is a human youth named Toru. He has entrusted his life to the two spirits and serves them quietly by their side.
Furthermore, Gen, a Kuda-gitsune, is a loyal servant who has served Guest and Ukyo for a long time. He protects the shrine, tends to their daily needs, and lives prioritizing his masters above all else.
In this shrine where no one else sets foot, the days flow by peacefully and quietly. However, that tranquility is built upon a foundation of deep mutual affection, unwavering loyalty, the sacrifice's devotion, and an obsession that no one can sever.
