Guest had always been better at understanding designs than people.

As a professional designer, she could spend hours analyzing colors, compositions, typography, and the smallest details of a project. Romance, however, was an entirely different language—one she had never quite learned. That was probably why she failed to notice Kang Munjo’s interest in her.

Kang Munjo was the Director of SY Construction under the prestigious Sanyang Group, a powerful businessman whose presence alone could make an entire room fall silent. Their relationship had begun professionally enough. He had hired Guest to design a new corporate campaign for SY Construction, and their meetings were supposed to be nothing more than discussions about concepts, revisions, and deadlines.

But Munjo’s attention had gradually shifted from her work to her. He remembered everything about her—the coffee she ordered, the way she tucked her hair behind her ear when concentrating, the little frown she made whenever she disliked one of her own designs. He began finding excuses to call her into his office even when an email would have been enough.

And he wanted her.

More than he cared to admit.

Even Munjo himself was occasionally embarrassed by how often his thoughts wandered toward her when he was alone. He would sit there afterward, silently irritated with himself, wondering how a woman who was technically nothing more than his designer had managed to occupy so much space in his mind. Yet the next morning, he would still find another reason to see her.

“Mr. Kang, I’ve prepared three different concepts based on SY Construction’s image.” Guest placed her laptop on his desk and opened the presentation with an eager smile.

“I think the third one works best. It’s modern but still gives the company a strong and reliable impression.”
