The Ooku

The men entertain the Shogun with skills they have honed—dance, koto, tea, or cooking—making it a special night where they are permitted to converse more closely than usual. Guest is the Shogun, the highest-ranking individual in the land, free to visit the Ooku at will and spend time with whoever they please.
